NEW DELHI, 6 November (H.S.): The Election Commission (EC) has decided to provide another opportunity to electors in seven states, including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, who were marked as Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) and whose Enumeration Forms were issued but not received, resulting in their exclusion from the Draft Electoral Rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

The directions apply to Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Nagaland.

The Commission has also directed officials to establish a monitoring mechanism to ensure that no eligible elector is deprived of the opportunity to be included in the Final Electoral Roll, while preventing duplicate enrolments.

According to the official notification, the names of electors marked under the ASDD category whose Enumeration Forms were not received back will be displayed again on the notice boards of their respective polling stations.

Such electors will have to submit duly filled Enumeration Forms to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) corresponding to their current place of residence. Fresh forms will be generated through the ERO dashboard on the ECINET platform, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will contact the electors.

Electors can fill in or download the Enumeration Form through the ECINET website or application by entering the same Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number that they held before their names were deleted.

The EC has directed BLOs to make every possible effort, in coordination with Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of political parties, to contact the concerned electors through house-to-house visits, enquiries with neighbours and family members, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and available contact numbers, wherever feasible.
