Bhubaneswar, 06 November (H.S.): The door-to-door survey being conducted in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) areas ahead of the upcoming municipal elections has been extended by 15 days. The survey, which was earlier scheduled to conclude on November 7, will now continue until November 22.

The State Election Commission issued an order in this regard on November 6, approving the extension following requests from the authorities of both municipal corporations.

The commissioners of BMC and CMC have been directed to ensure that the survey is completed accurately within the extended deadline. The Commission has also instructed them to put in place proper arrangements for regular supervision and monitoring of the exercise.

The Commission has emphasised that the survey must be completed within the revised timeframe and that no further delays should occur. Both municipal corporations have been asked to pay special attention to the timely and effective completion of the process.
