Bhubaneswar, 06 November (H.S.): The State Election Commission has extended the deadline for the ongoing door-to-door survey in Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts till November 14, 2026, in view of the disruption caused by cyclones ‘Arnab’ and ‘Murasu’ and the subsequent adverse weather conditions.

The impact of the cyclones, followed by heavy rainfall and unfavourable weather, has affected normal life in the two districts and disrupted the ongoing household survey. As a result, completing the exercise within the previously stipulated deadline has become difficult.

Considering the situation and to ensure accurate and comprehensive coverage of all eligible beneficiaries, the Commission has decided to extend the survey period by seven days. The survey was earlier scheduled to be completed by November 7.

The Commission has directed the Collectors of both districts to issue necessary instructions to all field-level officers and personnel engaged in the exercise and expedite the survey to ensure its completion within the revised deadline.
