Srinagar, Nov 06 (HS) The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday conducted raids at several locations in the Valley in connection with an alleged terror recruitment case.

Officials said CIK carried out searches at no fewer than half a dozen places in Budgam, Srinagar, Anantnag, Bijbehara and Sopore in connection with a terror recruitment case registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar.

The searches were conducted with the assistance of police and revenue officials in the presence of an executive magistrate, they said.

Officials said the operation was launched following information that individuals based in Pakistan, allegedly in collusion with handlers of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other proscribed organisations, were using social media platforms to lure Kashmiri youth and incite them against the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

Further details are awaited.
