Guwahati, 06 November (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Friday celebrated a special Pre-Diwali programme with the officers, staff members and their children at Lok Bhavan, Assam.

Extending his warm Diwali greetings, the Governor said the festival of lights symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. He observed that Diwali, deeply rooted in India's timeless civilisational ethos, reminds people that true illumination comes not merely from lighting lamps but also from embracing values such as truth, compassion, righteousness and selfless service.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were organised for the children of Lok Bhavan under the banner 'Lok Bhavan Assam Ke Pahal – Navdeep Viksit Bharat Ke Nirman Mein'.

The Governor distributed prizes among the winners, appreciating their participation and achievements.

The programme also included the distribution of sweets among the officers and staff members, adding to the festive atmosphere and promoting the spirit of sharing, affection and togetherness associated with Diwali.-----------
