Lucknow, Nov 03 (HS): All important information related to

land and housing in Uttar Pradesh will soon be available on a single portal. To

achieve this, the Bharat Land Stack project will be implemented in the state.

It will provide details of land ownership, plot boundaries, registry, building

approvals, master plans, land use, circle rates, mortgages, and pending court

disputes. This will eliminate the need for people to visit various government

offices for information. Chief Secretary SP Goyal chaired the first meeting of

the project's state-level steering committee on Monday. He stated that this

initiative will enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in land

administration. He directed the formation of a committee headed by the

Principal Secretary, Stamps and Registration, to ensure timely implementation

of the project. This committee will include officials from relevant

departments, including the Revenue Council.

An action plan will be developed based on the state's needs

after studying the experiences of other states. All departments were asked to

expedite the digitization and integration of land-related data. The meeting was

attended by Principal Secretary Stamps and Registration Amit Gupta, Chief

Executive Officer Invest UP Vijay Kiran Anand, and senior officials from

various departments.

Transparency will increase in buying and selling: Commissioner

and Secretary, Revenue Council, Kanchan Verma, stated that Bharat Land Stack is

a GIS-based digital public infrastructure. It will integrate land rights

records, cadastral maps, drone and satellite imagery, property registration,

building approvals, land use, master plans, circle rates, tenancy and lease

details into a digital layer. This will facilitate land acquisition, urban

planning, and property tax assessment. This will also enable better management of

utilities like electricity and water, and faster delivery of government

services. The integration of ownership and legal restrictions will enhance

transparency in land purchases and sales.
