Guwahati, 03 November (HS): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched its series of camps under the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0, with the first camps organised at New Tinsukia and Dibrugarh on November 2.
The camps, organised at the respective offices of the NFR Pensioners’ Association (NFRPA), marked the beginning of a month-long initiative to facilitate the submission of annual life certificates by railway pensioners and family pensioners.
A total of 52 pensioners attended the camps, including 47 at New Tinsukia and five at Dibrugarh. Digital Life Certificate details of 35 pensioners and family pensioners were successfully uploaded. Another camp will be organised at Dibrugarh on November 6 to assist those who are yet to complete the process.
The nationwide campaign is being conducted from November 1 to 30 in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare and the Railway Board. It aims to promote digital submission of life certificates, particularly through Aadhaar-based face authentication technology.
The facility enables pensioners to generate and submit their life certificates using compatible smartphones, eliminating the need to visit banks or pension disbursing offices in person.
As part of the initiative, camps are being organised at NFR's zonal and divisional headquarters, workshops and other locations having a substantial pensioner population, in coordination with NFRPA, banks and other concerned agencies.
Special assistance is being extended to pensioners aged 80 years and above, as well as those suffering from illnesses or facing mobility-related difficulties. Doorstep assistance is also being arranged wherever necessary.
Through the campaign, NFR aims to make the annual life certificate submission process simpler and more accessible for its retired employees and family pensioners. Eligible pensioners have been encouraged to utilise the designated camps and assistance facilities to complete the process within the stipulated period.-------------
