Pune, 03 Nov (HS): Development of Metro Rail network

is a step towards realising the mission of Developed Bharat. Pune is contributing

towards the mission with other cities by providing modern and quality public transport

system. It also facilitates economic

development of the city, the state and the nation, said Prime Minister Narendra

Modi.

Modi was speaking during inauguration of the third metro

route in Pune from Hinjewadi-Man to Shivajnagar on Tuesday. The Metro services

will be available for people from November 4. In the next phase Metro services between

Vanaaj-Chandni Chowk, Ramwadi-Vitthalwadi, Kharadi-Khadakwasla and Nalstop –

Manikbag will be developed. Modi also inaugurated the work on these lines.

Modi said that the network of Metro Rail increased

from 248 km to over 1200 km during the last 12 years, in 26 cities of the

country. More than one crore people are travelling by Metro Rail evenyday.
