New Delhi, 03 November (H.S.): In a significant step towards making judicial proceedings fully digital and paperless, the Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice will organise a national workshop on Wednesday, November 4, on the theme ‘e-Filing 3.0: From Process to Practice’. The event will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi under the e-Courts Mission Mode Project.

According to the Ministry of Law and Justice, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will attend the workshop as the chief guest. Members of the Supreme Court’s e-Committee will also be present.

The primary objective of the workshop is to familiarise government officials with the functioning and key features of the e-Filing 3.0 platform, while providing them with a better understanding of its practical applications. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) will conduct dedicated technical sessions during the programme, covering the functioning of the e-Courts system, e-Courts Single Sign-On (SSO), the e-Courts Services mobile application and the key features of e-Filing 3.0.

The workshop will also feature an interactive discussion with officials on the facilities and services available to government advocates and various government departments, providing an opportunity to address operational issues and clarify queries.

The third phase of the e-Courts Project, or e-Courts Phase III, is aimed at digitising judicial processes from end to end and making electronic services more accessible to citizens. Government ministries, departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs) and autonomous bodies account for a substantial share of litigation in courts across the country. Greater adoption of e-filing by these institutions is therefore expected to improve operational efficiency considerably and reduce dependence on physical paperwork in judicial proceedings.

According to the Ministry, the workshop reflects the Central Government’s commitment to establishing a digital, paperless and citizen-centric justice delivery system across the country. It also seeks to promote the wider and systematic integration of technology into judicial processes.
