Ayodhya, 03 November (H.S.): The Uttar Pradesh government

has extended the Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya by a day, with an additional

programme scheduled at Ram Ki Paidi on November 9, following Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath's review of preparations for the annual festival.

During his visit to Ayodhya on Monday, the Chief Minister

inspected arrangements at Ram Katha Park, Ram Ki Paidi and the Saryu Aarti

Ghat. He also reviewed the progress of construction work and directed officials

to complete all preparations within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring adequate

facilities, security and smooth movement of devotees and visitors.

The additional programme on November 9 will feature laser

shows, projection mapping, drone lighting and light-and-sound presentations at

Ram Ki Paidi. The extension is intended to give local residents and visitors

another opportunity to experience the festival celebrations.

Green fireworks will also be among the attractions of

Deepotsav-2026. According to the organisers, an aerial display featuring a

'Green Sun' will be presented above the Saryu River using fireworks designed to

produce less smoke and noise than conventional displays.

The fireworks arrangements include a platform at a height of

around 80 feet above the Saryu Bridge, supported by three hydras. The programme

is expected to feature aerial fireworks and illuminated displays in different

colours.

The main Deepotsav celebrations are scheduled for November

7, with preparations covering the riverfront and 56 ghats. The festival

programme also includes the participation of 2,147 priests in the Saryu Maha

Aarti and a Ramayana-themed aerial display involving 2,100 drones.
