New Delhi, 03 November (H.S.): Delhi Police ACP Manasvi Vashishtha on Tuesday released a video confirming his suspension, in which he asserted that the action had not weakened him but had instead made him stronger. “I am not hurt; I have become stronger. The law of the country will prevail, and justice will be delivered. Truth will triumph,” he said.

Thanking his supporters, Vashishtha said they had met at a meeting of the police personnel and put forward their concerns. He expressed confidence that their views would be acted upon and that a way forward would emerge.

It may be recalled that a clash broke out between a lawyer and police personnel at Shahdara Police Station on October 23, during which the lawyer sustained a head injury. Subsequently, on October 28, ACP Manasvi Vashishtha and Station House Officer (SHO) Arun Kumar were transferred.

Protesting against the transfers, Vashishtha led a demonstration outside Delhi Police Headquarters on November 2. Several Delhi Police officers and personnel, under his leadership, gathered outside the headquarters on Jai Singh Road on Monday. They wanted to meet Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar and present their concerns regarding the recent confrontation between police personnel and lawyers in Shahdara, East Delhi.

During the protest, the police personnel demanded the withdrawal of the transfer orders. Under the terms of the transfer, Vashishtha will remain stationed at the Delhi headquarters and will not be permitted to leave the national capital without prior approval. During this period, he will receive half his salary as a subsistence allowance.
