Kolkata, 02 November (H.S.) : The West Bengal government is making comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the upcoming festivals, including Diwali, Kali Puja, and Jagaddhatri Puja, are celebrated peacefully and safely across the state. To maintain strict vigilance over law and order, individual cabinet members have been assigned the responsibility of monitoring specific districts, State Minister Dilip Ghosh announced on Monday.
Speaking to media persons in Kharagpur, Ghosh emphasized the state administration's commitment to fostering a peaceful environment during the festive season. The administration and police have been directed to remain on high alert. Every cabinet member has been entrusted with a specific district to closely monitor the law and order situation and ensure smooth celebrations, he stated.
The minister noted that he is personally holding regular review meetings to evaluate the ground situation and ensure there are no administrative or security lapses. Proactive measures are being implemented across all levels to prevent any untoward incidents during the festivities.
The administration is laying special emphasis on crowd management at puja pandals, adequate street lighting, stringent fire safety protocols, and the security of citizens traveling late at night. A seamless coordination between the police force and the civic administration is being maintained to execute these safety and surveillance measures effectively.
