New Delhi, 02 November (H.S.): The Korea Open badminton tournament will be held from November 3 to 8 at Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu, South Korea, with several Indian shuttlers set to compete in the USD 500,000 BWF World Tour Super 500 event.

H.S. Prannoy will lead India’s men’s singles challenge following the withdrawal of fifth-seeded Lakshya Sen, who had recently won the Hylo Open title in Germany. Prannoy will begin his campaign against South Korea’s Yoo Tae-bin, while China’s Dong Tianyao is scheduled to face Sen’s replacement in the draw. Tarun Mannepalli and Raunak Chouhan have also withdrawn from the tournament.

In women’s singles, India’s Tanvi Sharma will take on Japan’s Manami Suizu in her opening match. Malvika Bansod faces a challenging first-round assignment against fourth seed Sim Yu-jin of South Korea, while Anmol Kharb will meet Canada’s Rachel Chan. Having reached the semi-finals of the Hylo Open, Anmol will look to carry her impressive form into the competition in Yeosu.

South Korea’s world No. 1 An Se-young is among the leading contenders in the women’s singles category. However, her participation remains subject to her fitness assessment. P.V. Sindhu, who recently won the Hylo Open title, has decided to withdraw from both the Korea Open and the Japan Masters.

In the men's doubles qualifying rounds, the Indian pair of Arjun Reddy Pochana and Achyutaditya Rao Doddavarapu will compete for a place in the main draw.

In women's doubles, Ritika Thaker and Sonali Singh will face Australia's Laudya Chelsea Griselda and Nozomi Shimizu.

In mixed doubles, Dhruv Rawat and K. Maneesha will take on China's Zhu Yi Jun and seventh seeds Li Qian.
