Kolkata, 02 November (H.S.) : In a sharp attack on Monday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Nabin criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him visionless and asserting that he would be responsible for the complete wipeout of his party. Nabin made these strong remarks while leading the BJP's 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, End Anarchy) march in Kolkata. The rally, which saw the participation of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and several senior party leaders, was organized as part of the BJP's nationwide counter-campaign against opposition protests concerning the Election Commission's 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of electoral rolls.
During the event, Nabin stated, Rahul Gandhi has no vision; he will be responsible for the wipeout of the Congress. He is a puppet of foreign forces. Highlighting what he termed as political hypocrisy, he added, During the Bengal elections, Rahul spoke fiercely against the misrule of the Mamata government, and now both are sharing the same stage. The BJP leader further leveled serious allegations against the Congress leader, accusing him of being part of a toolkit of foreign forces trying to destabilize India. He warned Gandhi to learn from his mistakes, cautioning, Otherwise, in the coming days, there will be no one left in the country to even take the name of the Congress.
Nabin also strongly criticized the opposition leaders who had gathered at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on Sunday to protest against the SIR process. Referring to the participation of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Nabin remarked, Yesterday at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, these people were shedding tears in the despair of defeat. But the people of the country will give them a befitting reply, just as the people of West Bengal have done. There is no use crying anymore.
Targeting the constituent parties of the 'INDI' alliance, the BJP leader claimed they had suffered electoral defeats across multiple states. The leaders of the INDI alliance, who lost in their respective states, gathered in Delhi to cry, Nabin asserted. Just as the TMC was wiped out in Bengal, Congress and AAP were wiped out in Delhi, and the RJD was completely swept away in Bihar. Looking ahead, he referenced Uttar Pradesh, stating, Now it is UP's turn. We have defeated Akhilesh Yadav before, and we will defeat him again in 2027. People with an anarchist mindset are united under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, but the people of Bengal have freed themselves from Mamata Didi, and the people of Delhi from Rahul Gandhi.
The massive BJP march commenced at College Street in central Kolkata and concluded at Dharmatala, with hundreds of supporters participating. Nitin Nabin, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, and State BJP President Samik Bhattacharya were seen leading from the front, holding the national flag.
Notably, the BJP has organized similar programs in several cities, accusing opposition parties of spreading misinformation and inciting unrest regarding the electoral roll revision process. Addressing party workers ahead of the march, BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar stated that the primary objective of this campaign is to provide a robust response to the opposition's attempts to create anarchy in the country.
