Guwahati, 2 November (HS): Paltan Bazar Police on Monday conducted a crime scene reconstruction at Hotel Vilas Inn in Guwahati last night in connection with the shooting incident that left five people dead and one critically injured. The prime accused, Ghanakanta Gogoi, was taken to the hotel under tight security for the exercise.

During the reconstruction, Gogoi reportedly narrated the sequence of events while police used six dummy figures to recreate the incident. He was also seen holding a pistol while explaining how the shooting took place. Several senior police officials were present at the crime scene as investigators sought to establish the sequence of events.

Meanwhile, Gogoi's wife, Jonmoni Gogoi, claimed before the media that her husband had opened fire on six people only in self-defence. She also confirmed that Gogoi had called her immediately after the shooting incident.

Jonmoni was questioned by police throughout Sunday and was allowed to leave around midnight. Investigators reportedly seized the vehicle keys, her mobile phone and the agreement document relating to Hotel Vilas Inn from her possession as part of the ongoing investigation.-------------
