Thiruvananthapuram, 02 Nov (H.S.):

In a major administrative shake-up, the Kerala government has executed a comprehensive reshuffle of its top Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, reassigning key portfolios across crucial state departments to streamline governance and enhance overall performance.

Under the new directives issued by the state administration, senior IAS officer N. Prasanth has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). He replaces M. G. Rajamanickam, who has been transferred and assigned the responsibility of the Local Self-Government Department.

The core bureaucratic framework has also seen notable movements. K. R. Jyothilal takes over as the new Home Secretary, succeeding Minhaj Alam. In turn, Minhaj Alam has been reassigned to lead the Finance Department as part of the cabinet's strategic administrative realignment.

The Health Department has undergone significant structural change as well. Sharmila Mary Joseph has been relieved of her duties as Health Secretary and handed charge of the Transport Department. Meanwhile, officer Muhammed Aneesh has been appointed to step in as the new head of the Health Department.

In other strategic shifts, M. Beena has been appointed as the Secretary of the Industry Department, while Puneet Kumar takes charge as the Additional Secretary of the Power Department. Aiming to invigorate the state's travel and hospitality sector, Anu Kumari has been posted as the new Tourism Director.

This wide-ranging reallocation of bureaucratic leadership underscores the government's focus on accelerating development, improving policy execution, and optimizing public service delivery across essential infrastructure and public welfare sectors.
