Hooghly, 02 November (H.S.): Jangipara MLA Prasenjit Bag demonstrated promptness and humanitarian concern on Monday by personally taking a road accident victim to hospital.

The incident took place at around 3:30 PM in the Jangipara area, in front of Dilakash Maa Bhairavi Cold Storage.

According to information, MLA Prasenjit Bag was travelling from the Jangipara Assembly office to attend a programme in Pursurah. On the way, he noticed an injured person lying unconscious on the road. An overturned engine van was also lying nearby.

Recognising the seriousness of the situation, the MLA immediately got out of his vehicle and, along with his associates, took the injured person to Udaynarayanpur Hospital in his own car.

After receiving primary treatment, the injured person was referred to SSKM (PG) Hospital in Kolkata for advanced medical care, considering the seriousness of his condition.

The identity of the injured person and the exact circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be ascertained.
