Guwahati, 2 November (HS): The process for selecting candidates for the post of Headmaster in Assam's higher secondary schools is set to begin shortly, with the seniority-based cadre selection exercise commencing from Monday.

According to the information available, the selection process will be conducted on the basis of seniority. However, the list does not include the names of eight districts falling under the Sixth Schedule areas.

Additionally, districts where cases related to the recruitment process are pending before the Gauhati High Court have also been excluded from the list. The development is expected to pave the way for completing the long-pending appointment process for headmasters in higher secondary schools across the state.------------
