New Delhi, 01 November (H.S.): The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made a change to its 15-member squad for the second Test against the West Indies, scheduled to begin on November 5 in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Cricket announced on social media platform X on Sunday that Amite Hasan had been included in the squad in place of Mominul Haque, who is unavailable due to a mandatory seven-day stand-down period under concussion protocols.
Mominul was ruled out after sustaining a head injury while fielding during the first Test. Jaker Ali was brought in as his concussion substitute during the match. Under the International Cricket Council's (ICC) concussion guidelines, a player diagnosed with concussion must observe a mandatory minimum seven-day period away from play before returning to action.
Wicketkeeper-batter Amite Hasan, who made his Test debut against Zimbabwe earlier this year, has played only one Test so far. However, he has an impressive record in domestic cricket, having scored 4,040 runs in 54 matches at an average of 50.50.
Following their defeat in the opening Test, Bangladesh have slipped from fourth to fifth place in the ongoing World Test Championship standings.
Bangladesh squad for the second Test against West Indies:
Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Jaker Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Amite Hasan.
