New Delhi, 01 November (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Sikh organisations are holding a protest march in Delhi on Sunday to demand justice for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and express solidarity with their families. The march, which began from the Hari Nagar Bus Depot, witnessed the participation of a large number of members of the Sikh community and BJP workers.

Led by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, the protesters demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologise to the victims of the 1984 riots. Several senior leaders attended the march, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney and BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat.

The march was organised to demonstrate solidarity with and support for those affected by the 1984 violence.

On the occasion, BJP leader R.P. Singh criticised the Opposition, alleging that its role had gone beyond raising objections and was now limited to creating disruptions. He claimed that issues which could be discussed and debated in Parliament were instead being taken to the streets. According to him, the Opposition neither wanted Parliament to function nor wished to allow normal activities on the streets.

R.P. Singh further alleged that instead of engaging in discussions on important issues, the Opposition was seeking to create deadlocks and promote disorder in the country. He asserted that the nation would not tolerate any insult to the Sikh community.
