
Noida, 9 Oct (HS): The Noida International Airport in
Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will now be known as the Narendra Modi International
Airport. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,
passed a proposal to rename the airport on Friday. The Chief Minister described
the decision, taken to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public
life, as a symbol of the state government's gratitude to the Prime Minister and
respect for his guidance and contribution to Uttar Pradesh's development.
In a press conference held after the meeting, the Chief
Minister stated that the Cabinet also passed a resolution congratulating Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on his 25th anniversary in public life. On October 7th,
Prime Minister Modi completed 25 years of continuous and dedicated public
service as head of government (both as Chief Minister of Gujarat and as Prime
Minister). This is a proud chapter in Indian democratic history. This 25-year
journey has been driven by the spirit of service, dedication, and nation
first. This journey is not merely a journey of power or governance, but a
journey of public welfare through public service and public trust through
public participation.
Naming of Jewar Airport: The Chief Minister stated that the
Noida International Airport, Jewar, is a significant gift from the Prime
Minister to Uttar Pradesh. This airport will elevate the state's economy,
industry, tourism, and global connectivity to new heights in the future. In
this spirit, the Cabinet passed a resolution to rename the airport
Narendra Modi International Airport. The Cabinet expresses
gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his 25 years in public life, his
unwavering guidance, his consistent commitment to Uttar Pradesh's development,
and his leadership that has given the country a new direction. The Cabinet also
expressed its appreciation for Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Under his
leadership and guidance, the state government will continue to work with full
energy, dedication, and commitment to realize the vision of Developed
Uttar Pradesh, Developed India - 2047.
From Kashi to Jewar, the Prime Minister has a special
connection with UP: The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister is an
elected representative from Kashi and is leading the nation from the land of
Uttar Pradesh. The relationship between Kashi and the Prime Minister is not
limited to political representation. A new connection has been established
between Kashi's development, spiritual renaissance, and the overall development
of Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister stated that approximately Rs. 60,000 crore
have been spent on 42 national highways, approximately 2,483 kilometers long,
in Uttar Pradesh.
From freight corridor to defense corridor, the industrial
landscape has changed: The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is emerging
as a major logistics and industrial hub in the country. Dadri has become a
major junction for the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors. More
than 1,050 kilometers of the Dedicated Freight Corridor passes through the
state. The country's first multimodal inland port terminal and the country's
first 100-acre freight village have been developed on National Waterway-1 in
Varanasi. The BrahMos missile assembly unit in Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh
Defense Industrial Corridor, and the 1,000-acre PM Mitra Textile Park are
setting new directions for industrial development.
Referring to farmer welfare, the Chief Minister said that
under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, more than Rs. 1
lakh crore has been transferred directly to the accounts of over 3 crore
farmers in Uttar Pradesh. Loans of approximately 8.6 million farmers have been
waived.
The Chief Minister stated that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana, more than 6.5 million poor families in Uttar Pradesh have received
housing. Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, approximately 150
million people from 36.7 million ration card-holding families are being
provided free food grains.
The Chief Minister stated that approximately 60.8 million
Ayushman cards have been issued in the state under Ayushman Bharat. More than
99 million citizens in the state have received health coverage. More than 10.9
million patients suffering from serious illnesses have benefited from free
treatment worth Rs. 18,798 crore. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than
33.7 million toilets and 59,183 community toilets have been built in the state.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 18.6 million free LPG connections have
been provided. The state government is providing free LPG cylinders to women on
Holi and Diwali.
Women empowerment strengthens the village economy: The Chief
Minister said that under the Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan, more than one crore women
are associated with 10 lakh self-help groups. Under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi
Yojana, more than 15 lakh street vendors have received financial assistance.
Under the Swamitva Yojana, work was done in more than 91 thousand villages and
more than 1.10 crore rural families received property proof in the form of
Garhauni. The economic, social and political participation of women has
increased. Constitutional status to the OBC Commission, 10 percent reservation
for economically weaker sections and many steps have been taken for the welfare
of Scheduled Castes-Tribes and people standing at the bottom of the society.
UP's talent from 'local to global': The Chief Minister said
that the One District, One Product scheme has brought international recognition
to Uttar Pradesh's local products and handicrafts. During his foreign visits,
Prime Minister Modi has given a global platform to Uttar Pradesh products such
as Kashi's pink meenakari, Nizamabad's black pottery, Kannauj's perfume, and
Lucknow's zardozi.
Jobs, training and digital empowerment for youth: Yogi said
that under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, smartphones and
tablets were distributed to over 6.2 million youth. Over 950,000 government
appointments have been made in the state, and 6.5 million youth have found
employment in the private sector. More than 3.11 million youth have been
trained through job fairs, ITI programs, and the Skill Development Mission.
Projects like the Major Dhyanchand Sports University in Meerut, the Modern
Sports Complex in Kashi, and the National Center of Excellence have given new
direction to sports and young talent.
From Ram Mandir to Maha Kumbh, a renaissance of cultural
consciousness: The Chief Minister linked the Prime Minister's contributions
beyond economic and infrastructure development to a spiritual and cultural
renaissance. He said that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the
consecration of Ram Lalla ended a 500-year wait. The Kashi Vishwanath Dham was
redeveloped, and a grand and divine path was built from the Ganga Ghats to Baba
Vishwanath Dham. A nearly 100-year-old statue of Goddess Annapurna was brought
back from abroad and reinstalled at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The Piprahwa
relics of Lord Buddha returned to India after 127 years. The Prayagraj Maha
Kumbh witnessed the arrival of over 660 million devotees. The Chief Minister
cited initiatives like the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Abhidhamma Day, the Buddhist
Circuit, the Sant Ravidas Birthplace Development Project, museum and statue
projects, the Chauri-Chaura Centenary Celebrations, and the Atal Bihari
Vajpayee Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow as contributing to the
cultural renaissance.
He also mentioned the international recognition of
Varanasi's music and Lucknow's cuisine, the global recognition of the Buddhist
sites associated with Sarnath, and the efforts to preserve cultural heritage.
He also highlighted the Bharat Ratna awards to Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya
and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh as national recognition for
the contributions of the state's great personalities.
