New Delhi, 09 October (H.S.): In view of a protest scheduled to take place in Delhi on Saturday, October 10, and the accompanying traffic advisory, Northern Railway has decided to cancel several trains.

In a statement issued on Friday, Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said train services operating to and from New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Tilak Bridge railway stations would be affected by the proposed protest, scheduled from 4 am to 2 pm.

According to the list released by the Railways, several prominent trains scheduled to operate on October 9 and 10 have been cancelled. These include the Magadh Express, Tejas Rajdhani Express, Sampoorna Kranti Express, Amrit Bharat Express, Prayagraj Express and Shram Shakti Express. Several other trains arriving in Delhi from Kanpur, Agra, Banaras, Kasganj and Lucknow will also be affected.

Train number 20801 Magadh Express, originating from Islampur for New Delhi; train number 12309 Tejas Rajdhani Express and train number 12393 Sampoorna Kranti Express, both originating from Rajendra Nagar; and train number 22361 Amrit Bharat Express have been cancelled. Train number 12033 Shatabdi Express from Kanpur Central to New Delhi, train number 12417 Prayagraj Express and train number 12275 Humsafar Express from Prayagraj are also among the affected services.

Other trains on the cancellation list include train number 12451 Shram Shakti Express; train number 14211 Intercity Express from Agra Cantt; trains numbered 12559 and 12581 originating from Banaras; train number 15303 from Kasganj; and train number 82501 Tejas Express from Lucknow. Services numbered 22181, 12189 and 12121 running from Jabalpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin will also be affected.

The protest is also expected to disrupt several services associated with Tilak Bridge and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations. These include train number 15308 from Sirsa to Tilak Bridge, train number 12964 from Udaipur City to Hazrat Nizamuddin and train number 14727 from Sri Ganganagar to Tilak Bridge.

In addition, train number 12963 from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Udaipur City, train number 14738 from Tilak Bridge to Bhiwani, train number 14737 from Bhiwani to Tilak Bridge and train number 14728 from Tilak Bridge to Sri Ganganagar will remain cancelled. Train number 12056 from Dehradun to New Delhi has also been reported cancelled. Some services have been cancelled due to the non-availability of rakes.

Northern Railway has urged passengers to verify the status of their respective trains before commencing their journeys to avoid inconvenience upon reaching the station. Passengers have been advised to obtain the latest operational updates through the official Indian Railways website or its authorised enquiry channels.
