Service Road Project Approved as MLA Sanjay Goel Reviews Long-Pending Civic Issues in Friends Colony Industrial Area

New Delhi, 09 October (H.S.): Office-bearers and members of the Friends Colony Industrialists Association (Regd.) held a meeting with Shahdara MLA Sanjay Goel on Friday to highlight long-standing civic and infrastructure issues affecting the nearly 100-year-old Friends Colony Industrial Area. The meeting focused on several key concerns, including road construction, traffic congestion, waterlogging and improvements to the sewerage system.

During the meeting, it was announced that approval had been granted for the construction of a service road running alongside the GT Road Metro line, from Lane No. 8 to Lane No. 1B near Mansarovar Park Metro Station.

Efforts are also underway to ease traffic congestion near the underpass through road widening and the construction of a U-turn. The process of resolving the waterlogging problem inside the underpass has also been initiated.

In addition, a tender has been issued for the repair of the service road opposite the Damodar Park Industrial Area. The sewer overflow problem in Friends Colony has been brought under control, while the replacement of damaged manhole covers is also in progress.

The association expressed hope that these initiatives would improve basic infrastructure in the area and provide relief to local entrepreneurs.

The association aims to consistently raise issues affecting the industrial area with the relevant authorities and elected representatives to accelerate development works. Its objective is to ensure that this historic industrial hub receives essential facilities, including better roads, an efficient sewerage system and smoother traffic management.
