Lucknow, 9 Oct (HS): The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is

celebrating the death anniversary of its founder Kanshi Ram today. On this

occasion, party national president Mayawati paid floral tributes to his statue

in the open courtyard of the party's central camp office at 9 Mall Avenue in

Lucknow. National convener Akash Anand and several other senior party officials

were also present.

Mayawati said that just like Kanshi Ram's tremendous

sacrifice, ascetic life, and dedication to carry forward Baba Saheb's caravan

of self-respect and self-esteem, for me too, the crores of people of the

Bahujan Samaj are my extended real family. Their interests, welfare, and

identity are paramount to me.

Mayawati said that it is my confidence, commitment,

strength, and energy regarding the movement for social change and economic

liberation in the country that has enabled me to accomplish many historic

feats, forming the BSP government four times and once with a full majority for

five years in a vast state like Uttar Pradesh. Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao

Ambedkar's life dreamt of a humanitarian and welfare India, and Kanshi Ram

himself dedicated and struggled throughout his life to transforming this

constitutional Bahujan Era into a reality. In fact, he made me

capable by testing me in the furnace of aggressive and casteist politics in

Uttar Pradesh. In the final days of his life, he declared me his successor, and

this is my pledge that I will not let any harm come to that trust.

Mayawati stated that to fulfill the promise of our great

men, it is crucial to acquire the master key to power and transform the

exploited class into the ruling class. In this regard,

everyone must devote even more energy, mind, and money to the upcoming assembly

elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab in a few months, to truly

pay a heartfelt tribute to Kanshi Ram, in accordance with his life's mission.

Regarding the question of acquiring the master key to power to become

capable of self-sufficiency, Kanshi Ram's advice was that the

Bahujan Samaj has never attained power through anyone's kindness or mercy, nor

will it ever attain it, but through the power of their voting rights, granted

by Baba Saheb's Constitution, which must be protected like life, property,

religion, and self-respect.

Mayawati attacked Congress: The BSP chief said that despite

Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's historic role as the architect of India's

unique Constitution, the Congress Party government did not honor him with the

Bharat Ratna for a long time. Finally, when the BSP gained strength, he was

honored with the Bharat Ratna during the VP Singh government. Similarly, his

ardent follower Kanshi Ram should have also received the Bharat Ratna,

recognizing his historic contribution to social change and the sentiments of

the Bahujan Samaj, but this did not happen. Therefore, the BSP demands that

Kanshi Ram be honored with the country's highest civilian award, the Bharat

Ratna.

He also gave his reaction regarding the media: Mayawati

stated that the path to power is arduous, casteist, and toxic. Especially at a

time when the Constitution's humanitarian and welfare-oriented principles have

been largely forgotten, and every service has been commercialized based solely

on profit and loss, how can the media, considered the fourth pillar of

democracy, remain untouched? Among the opponents' numerous tactics of coercion,

bribery, punishment, and discrimination, actual media, social media, and AI are

now their new weapons, requiring extreme caution against fake news, paid news,

sponsored news, and false propaganda, as their strategy is to distract the BSP

from power by diverting its focus and attention from the upcoming assembly

elections.

Mayawati thanked: The BSP chief said that the 'Open Seminar

Program' of the party's founder Kanshi Ram ji is being organized with his

family at the zone level in other states besides UP with complete missionary

spirit. For this, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude, thanks and gratitude

to all the big and small office bearers, workers, well-wishers etc. of the

party. She said that due to the ongoing government maintenance work at the

'Bahujan Samaj Prerna Kendra' established in Delhi, these people are not able

to go there, so they are paying their respects at their own level. Apart from

this, BSP supporters are coming to Lucknow and offering their humble tributes

and immense respect.

Government cornered on inflation, government's empty talk: Mayawati

said that the country's people, across all sections of society, are suffering

and distressed by the serious problems of extreme poverty, inflation,

unemployment, illiteracy, and backwardness. Creating a feel-good atmosphere for

a handful of people cannot make the country happy and prosperous. The

government must develop a strong India by taking better and lasting measures to

ensure that the people are employed, strong, and self-respecting.

This concern of the BSP has now been made an issue by Gen-G

and Gen Alpha, among others. Their youth power should have been invested in

nation-building, in accordance with the true constitutional intent and policies

of the central and state governments. Overall, the central government, and the

governments of all neighboring states, including Uttar Pradesh, are making

empty promises, especially regarding essential and basic amenities: good

schools, hospitals, good roads, and, most importantly, eliminating unemployment.

These claims require governments to invest their entire heart, mind, and money,

with the right intentions and policies, and in this situation, to achieve

self-reliance in fundamental matters of national and public interest and

welfare, the government must rely on itself, more than the private sector, and

move forward on its own strength. It is fair and preferable to run the country

according to the Constitution's sacred, humanitarian, and welfare intentions,

rather than a business mindset.
