
Lucknow, 8 Oct (HS): UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on
Thursday attended a program to commemorate the death anniversary of former
Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, held at a hotel in Sushant Golf City.
Addressing the condolence meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that 50
years ago, a young leader emerged in the country's politics, who over time
became a strong voice for the Dalits, the exploited, and the deprived. He said
that the people of Bihar honored him greatly and elected him to the Indian
Parliament with a record-breaking majority in the country. Ram Vilas Paswan
dedicated his life to awakening social consciousness through Indian politics
and building the India of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's dreams.
Recalling his long tenure with the late Paswan in
Parliament, the Chief Minister said, I had the privilege of working with
him in Parliament. He had deep reverence and respect for the eternal tradition
of India. CM Yogi said that Ram Vilas Paswan championed the social cause
without any discrimination. Whether it was in the government of the revered
Atal Bihari Vajpayee or the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his
demeanor as a Union Minister was always extremely easygoing, affectionate, and
full of goodwill, which touched everyone's heart.
Chirag Paswan is carrying forward his father's mission: The
Chief Minister said that while Ram Vilas Paswan's physical absence is deeply
felt today, it is deeply satisfying that his son and Union Minister Chirag
Paswan is dedicatedly carrying forward his father's unfinished mission. As a
Union Minister, Chirag Paswan is continuously working on every platform to
become a strong voice for the nation's underprivileged and society.
