
Bhubaneswar, 08 October (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers K.V. Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday expressed grief over the demise of veteran actor and Padma Shri awardee Nana Patekar, describing his death as a major loss to Indian cinema.
CM Majhi Calls His Demise a Great Loss.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said Nana Patekar’s demise was a great loss to Indian cinema. In a social media post, Majhi recalled the actor’s exceptional talent, powerful performances and enduring contribution to the arts.
“Through his exceptional talent, powerful performances and enduring contribution to the arts, he left an indelible mark on generations of audiences,” Majhi said.
The Chief Minister prayed to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength and solace to Nana Patekar’s family, friends and countless admirers during the hour of grief.
K.V. Singh Deo Recalls Iconic Performances
Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the legendary actor and recalled his memorable performances in films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Prahaar, Ab Tak Chhappan and the Marathi classic Natsamrat.
Singh Deo said Nana Patekar was a towering figure of Indian cinema whose performances would remain etched in the hearts of audiences. He also highlighted the actor’s humanitarian work, particularly his efforts for farmers through the Naam Foundation.
“India has lost a true icon whose voice and presence defined an era,” Singh Deo said, extending his condolences to the actor’s family, admirers and the countless people whose lives he touched.
Pravati Parida Pays Tribute
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida also expressed deep grief over Nana Patekar’s demise. In her message, she said the veteran actor had created a distinctive identity in Indian cinema through his extraordinary acting talent.
Parida conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and millions of his admirers and prayed for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
Dharmendra Pradhan Recalls Lasting Legacy
Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan also mourned the death of the veteran actor, praising his remarkable body of work, powerful performances, iconic dialogue delivery and distinctive screen presence.
Pradhan said Nana Patekar had left an enduring imprint on Indian cinema and that his contribution to the film world would be remembered for generations.
“My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, supporters and admirers. May his soul rest in peace,” Pradhan said.
