New Delhi, 08 October (H.S.): Tata Group-led Air India will offer ‘travel SIM cards’ to passengers travelling overseas. The Air India-branded travel SIM, ‘eSIMroam’, has been developed in partnership with Tata Communications and will provide international roaming services.
According to the airline, the additional product will be available for purchase through a dedicated Air India-branded webpage, both as a physical SIM card and an eSIM. Through the service, passengers will be able to access voice and data services while travelling internationally.
The SIM card will initially be provided free of charge, while customers will have to pay for the applicable roaming packs. The service will be available across 30 countries in North America, Europe, including the United Kingdom, Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and West Asia.
The company said customers using the eSIMroam service could benefit from reliable, high-speed international connectivity across around 30 Air India destinations. The offering includes up to 1 GB of complimentary data and savings of up to 50 per cent on international roaming.
The company said Tata Communications’ eSIMroam, its trusted connectivity partner, makes it easier for customers to remain connected as soon as they begin their international journey.
