Bhubaneswar, 07 October (H.S.) : The Odisha Higher Education Department on Wednesday issued the notification and election schedule for student union polls in higher educational institutions for the academic year 2026-27, with voting scheduled for October 15.

According to the schedule, the nomination process will be held on October 9 from 10 am to 1 pm. Scrutiny of nominations will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm on the same day, while the list of valid nominations will be published at 5 pm.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations on October 10 between 10 am and 1 pm. The final list of candidates will be published at 3 pm.

A meeting on the theme “Why I Stand For” will be held on October 14 as part of the election process.

Polling will be conducted on October 15 from 8 am to 2 pm. Counting of votes will begin at 2 pm and continue until the counting is completed and the results are declared.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held on October 16 at 11 am. The same day has also been kept as the reserved day, or Presidential Holiday, as per the election schedule.
