Guwahati, 07 October (H.S.): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday extended his warm birthday greetings to senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister Bijoya Chakravarty, describing her as a respected guide and mentor.

In a social media post, Sarma recalled Chakravarty’s long public life and her contribution to serving the people of Assam with dedication and perseverance. He also acknowledged her role in strengthening the organisational base of the BJP in the state.

Sarma said Chakravarty’s affection, sincerity and guidance enriched by her experience continued to inspire party workers to pursue public service with greater dedication. He described her as a valued and affectionate mentor whose guidance remained a blessing.

The Chief Minister prayed to Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva for Chakravarty’s good health, longevity, happiness and peace.----------
