Kanpur, 7 Oct (HS): The Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) have no agenda to present to the public. Whenever they came to power, they promoted corruption, hooliganism, and appeasement politics instead of development, Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said on Wednesday at the conclusion of the Seva Jyoti Yatra.

Seva Jyoti Yatra was organised as part of various programmes organised from September 17 to October 17 to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Yatra started from Phoolbagh and culminated at the Bharat Mata statue at Ghantaghar Square via Birhana Road and Nayaganj. Workers participated in the approximately one and a half kilometre long Yatra with torches in their hands. During this, along with Swatantra Dev Singh, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, MP Ramesh Awasthi, MLA Surendra Maithani, Rahul Sonkar Bachcha, Kanpur North District President Anil Dixit, South District President Shivram Singh and Mayor Pramila Pandey, along with hundreds of workers were present.

Earlier, addresses by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Nitin Navin were broadcast via LED screens on a stage set up in Phool Bagh. A large number of party workers were present at the venue to listen to the addresses. During the tour, the workers informed the public about the government's achievements, spreading the message of nationalism and development.

Swatantra Dev Singh said that the Congress and Samajwadi Party looted the country and the state while in power. He alleged that corruption and hooliganism were encouraged under the rule of both parties, and that terrorist organizations like SIMI were supported. He said that the BJP government has prioritized security and development in the country.

He said that the Modi government's schemes have lifted nearly 250 million people out of poverty. Millions of needy families have received amenities like permanent homes, toilets, free rations, and gas connections. Today, the country has seen effective action against terrorism and Naxalism, reduced riots, and a grand Ram Temple has been constructed in Ayodhya. The Cabinet Minister said that to achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, we must rise above casteism, regionalism, and dynasty rule and embrace nationalism and development.
