Kolkata, 07 October (H.S.): Marking an unprecedented milestone in Indian political history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 25 uninterrupted years as the head of an elected government, spanning his tenure as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. To commemorate this landmark silver jubilee of governance, the nationwide 'Seva Jyoti Yatra' initiative was launched on Wednesday. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari inaugurated the state-level program by lighting the ceremonial lamp at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Adhikari lauded the Prime Minister's dedication to governance and public welfare. He does not refer to himself as the Prime Minister, but as the 'Pradhan Sevak' (Prime Servant). He does not just say it; he works embodying that very spirit. Modi ji serves as an immense inspiration to us all, Adhikari stated.
The event featured a live broadcast of Prime Minister Modi’s address to the nation on giant LED screens, attended by a large audience. Nearly all members of the state cabinet along with senior leadership from the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party were present at the Netaji Indoor Stadium to mark the occasion.
