New Delhi, 07 October (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years as head of government, saying that he had made public service the purpose of his life and continued on the path of serving the nation by treating political power as a means of service.

Addressing a programme at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Indore on Wednesday, Nitin Nabin extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to Prime Minister Modi on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians and millions of BJP workers for his uninterrupted and unwavering 25-year journey of service and dedication.

He said that over the past 25 years, Prime Minister Modi had consistently worked with diligence and dedication to bring development, confidence and self-respect into the lives of the people. The BJP president said Modi’s public life had been a journey defined by his resolve to connect public service with national service and to make politics an instrument of service.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 25 years as head of government on October 7, 2026. His journey in public office began on October 7, 2001, when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He subsequently completed three consecutive terms as Gujarat Chief Minister.

After serving as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for nearly 13 years, Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014. He returned to office for a second term in 2019 and became Prime Minister for a third consecutive term in June 2024. With this, his nearly quarter-century journey from Chief Minister to Prime Minister has been completed.

In June 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved another significant milestone in terms of consecutive tenure. He became the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister of India, surpassing the record for a continuous tenure previously held by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Over the course of this 25-year journey, Narendra Modi, from his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister to his years as Prime Minister, has represented India at various national and international forums.
