According to the NFR CPRO kapinjal Kishore Sharma on Wednesday, the programme was attended by NFR General Manager and Chief Patron of NFR Bharat Scouts and Guides Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and NFR Women’s Welfare Organisation President Shalini Shrivastava.
A total of 321 members qualified for the Rajya Puraskar, also known as the Governor’s Award, for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. Five members qualified for 2022-23, 135 for 2023-24 and 181 for 2024-25. The award ceremony on October 5 was attended by 293 participants, including awardees, cultural and band teams and district officials.
The Rajya Puraskar is the highest state-level recognition for Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers. Candidates are required to earn proficiency badges and successfully complete a five-day testing camp, where their skills and knowledge are assessed. The award also enables eligible members to prepare for the national-level President’s Award testing camp.
NFR Bharat Scouts and Guides has also earned recognition through national awards and community service initiatives. This year, 24 members received the Rashtrapati Awards, while 94 Cubs and Bulbuls received the Golden Arrow Award.
During the 2026 Ambubachi Mela, 225 members provided round-the-clock assistance to pilgrims at Kamakhya Dham. Volunteers also participated in flood-relief activities in Sivasagar and Jorhat districts with the support of NFRWWO. Their activities included cleanliness drives, environmental awareness campaigns, skill-development programmes, road-safety street plays, drinking-water distribution and crowd management at railway stations.
The rally underscored the organisation’s focus on discipline, leadership, teamwork and voluntary community service while encouraging young members to contribute responsibly to the Railways and society.----------
