
New Delhi, 07 October (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years in public service. Shah recalled Modi’s journey from serving as Gujarat Chief Minister to becoming Prime Minister and highlighted his governance and development-oriented initiatives.
Home Minister Shah wrote on X today, “Heartiest congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji on completing 25 years of service and dedication. This journey has been marked by tireless hard work, immense determination and a life devoted to putting the nation above everything else. On this day, October 7, 2001, Modi ji took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Since then, his continuous journey of service, struggle and dedication, first as Chief Minister and later as Prime Minister, has come to symbolize the welfare of the poor, empowerment of women, progress of the youth and the well-being of every section of society.”
He wrote, “Over 25 years of public service, Modi ji has transformed the very definition of governance through people-centric policies, their effective implementation, decisive decision-making, transparency and a commitment to delivering results. He has also established an ideal of ‘politics of performance’.”
Recalling Prime Minister Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, Shah said he rebuilt Kutch, which had been devastated by the earthquake. He highlighted the Jyotigram Yojana for strengthening electricity supply, initiatives in solar energy and Vibrant Gujarat for promoting investment and industry. He also said Gujarat achieved an agricultural growth rate of more than eight per cent. According to Shah, after Modi became Prime Minister, this vision of governance was expanded further at the national level.
Shah wrote, “As Prime Minister, this vision was taken forward. From space to the seas and from global platforms to internal security, India has achieved new milestones. There has also been a major transformation in people’s lives. Twenty-five crore people have been lifted out of poverty. Millions of families have received pucca houses, health coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh, Ujjwala LPG connections and access to tap water in every household.”
He said, “Today, under the leadership of Shri Modi ji, India, as one of the fastest-growing major economies, is reaching new heights in areas such as manufacturing, digital payments, startups, semiconductors, defence production and renewable energy. At a time of war and instability across the world, India has emerged as an important global voice for peace and harmony. Shri Modi ji has instilled confidence among crores of Indians, given the nation the mantra of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and inspired the resolve to make India a leader in every field by 2047. It is a matter of privilege and pride for all of us to participate in the nation-building efforts under his leadership.”
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on completing 25 years in public service. In a Facebook post, Tamang wrote, “On the historic and significant occasion of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji completing 25 remarkable years in public service, I extend heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him on behalf of the people and government of Sikkim.”
He wrote, “From assuming office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, to serving as the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Modi ji’s remarkable journey reflects his unwavering commitment to selfless service, good governance and nation-building. The people and government of Sikkim remain deeply grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his continued support, guidance, affection and blessings. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to him and wish him good health, strength and a long life so that he may continue to lead the nation towards greater progress, prosperity, peace and global leadership. Heartiest congratulations and best wishes.”
