Guwahati, 07 October (H.S.): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the second regional workshop of the Sadhana Srinkhla (Series) 2026 in Guwahati on October 9, the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) informed on Wednesday.
The workshop will bring together representatives from all eight northeastern states — Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Heads and faculty members of government training institutes, subject matter experts, industry partners and other stakeholders are expected to participate.
The Sadhana Srinkhla series comprises four regional workshops aimed at transforming Civil Service Training Institutions into Capacity Building Institutions under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building. The first workshop was held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on September 29-30.
The Guwahati workshop will focus on institutional transformation, strengthening governance and faculty capabilities, improving operational effectiveness and promoting digital adoption, including emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
The consultations will also seek to develop State-specific action plans and identify practical measures for creating demand-responsive, role- and competency-based capacity-building systems.
The CBC is working towards a comprehensive Training Institute Transformation Framework based on consultations with states and training institutions. The framework is expected to provide a common direction while taking into account the diverse institutional requirements of different states.
The implementation of the transformation will be supported by the Unified New-Age National Training Initiative (UNNATI) portal, which connects more than 700 training institutes on a common digital platform.
The insights from the Guwahati workshop, the second in the four-part series, will contribute to finalising the transformation framework and strengthening the training ecosystem in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.----------
