New Delhi, 07 October (H.S.): GAIL (India) Limited, India’s largest natural gas company, on Wednesday launched Season 2 of its consumer awareness campaign ‘Wah Kya Energy Hai’, releasing four short films along with the campaign anthem, ‘Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy’.

The campaign is part of GAIL’s continued efforts to strengthen direct consumer engagement and raise awareness about cleaner and more sustainable energy choices. With a focus on cleaner fuel options such as compressed natural gas (CNG), piped natural gas (PNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG), the campaign seeks to connect with diverse consumer groups across the country.

According to GAIL, Season 2 places particular emphasis on Generation Z, given the growing influence of the generation on consumption choices and its potential role in accelerating the transition towards a cleaner energy future.

Strengthening GAIL’s consumer-focused communication, the campaign explores applications of domestic PNG (D-PNG), commercial PNG (C-PNG), CNG, industrial PNG (I-PNG) and LNG, demonstrating how cleaner energy solutions can become a seamless part of everyday life as well as commercial and industrial operations.

GAIL said ‘Wah Kya Energy Hai’ has been created to raise awareness about the availability and benefits of cleaner and more environment-friendly energy options, including CNG, PNG, I-PNG, LNG and compressed biogas (CBG).

Season 2 takes the storytelling a step further by delving deeper into the lives of the Mishra family as they navigate a series of familiar everyday situations — from a short trip to Varanasi and a memorable boat ride to family celebrations, visits from relatives and an event at Senior Mishra’s factory.

Each episode revolves around an uncomplicated, relatable situation and presents a compelling case for choosing cleaner fuels. Through wit, humour and everyday storytelling, the films encourage viewers to reflect on their energy choices and consider cleaner alternatives. Season 2 also features an expanded creative canvas, with enhanced production quality, visuals and storytelling.

Each episode runs for approximately eight to 10 minutes.

Complementing the episodic stories, GAIL has also released the campaign anthem ‘Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy’, which runs for more than four minutes. The anthem brings together GAIL’s extensive energy infrastructure and innovative solutions, including its floating CNG station in Varanasi and newer offerings such as compressed biogas.

The anthem’s video features consumers and communities across age groups, geographical regions and walks of life. From children and young people to senior citizens and members of the country’s defence forces, the narrative highlights how thoughtful everyday choices and the adoption of better fuel options can help reduce individual carbon footprints and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The campaign is being promoted extensively through GAIL’s social media platforms, influencer and audience-engagement initiatives, digital banners, radio outreach, cinema chains and gamification-based activities. Short-form content is being further amplified through social media Shorts and other digital formats, while the anthem is being distributed across leading music-streaming platforms.

Speaking about the campaign, GAIL Director (Human Resources) Ayush Gupta said, “‘Wah Kya Energy Hai’ Season 2 and our anthem ‘Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy’ are an effort to build greater awareness among consumers about cleaner energy choices and environmental responsibility.

“Through rational, relatable and easy-to-understand stories, we want to encourage Indians to make smarter, future-ready fuel choices and demonstrate how cleaner energy can have a positive impact both on the environment and on everyday life. We have also deliberately brought Gen Z into this conversation because young people are not only tomorrow’s consumers but also important catalysts for the energy transition.”

He said each story in the campaign brings a different aspect of GAIL’s clean-energy ecosystem to life while highlighting the relevance of cleaner energy across diverse applications.

“From CNG and PNG, which enable cleaner mobility and household applications, to transport LNG and commercial and industrial PNG, which cater to cleaner and more efficient industrial and commercial requirements, the campaign showcases the breadth of our solutions,” Gupta said.

Gupta added that GAIL Utkarsh, the company’s CSR initiative supporting meritorious students from underprivileged communities, has also been woven into the campaign, along with GAIL’s floating CNG stations in Varanasi.

“These stories demonstrate that GAIL’s presence extends beyond energy supply to creating wider social and economic value. Through these diverse narratives, ‘Wah Kya Energy Hai’ seeks to make the clean-energy transition more relatable, relevant and meaningful for consumers across the country,” he said.

Amid the global shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy options, GAIL (India) Limited continues to advocate the adoption and wider use of natural gas as an important enabler of a cleaner energy future. Through its diversified portfolio and expanding consumer reach, the company aims to increase awareness of the environmental and everyday benefits of cleaner energy options while contributing to India’s broader sustainability goals.

Actors Srikant Verma, Divya Jagdale, Luv Vispute, and Ahmed Khan feature in the four short films, adding an engaging and accessible dimension to the campaign’s message around sustainability, cleaner energy choices and a better future.

GAIL is India’s largest natural gas company, with diversified interests across the natural gas value chain, including natural gas trading and transmission, LPG production and transmission, LNG regasification, petrochemicals, city gas distribution, exploration and production, among others.

The company owns and operates more than 18,700 km of natural gas pipelines across the country and is simultaneously executing multiple pipeline projects to expand its network and enhance the availability of natural gas across India.
