
Mumbai, 07 Oct (HS): Bogus doctors practising in
Mumbai’s suburbs without any necessary registration, have been booked by the Crime
Branch of the Mumbai Police. Ten such doctors were detected from Bhadup,
Boriwali, Jogeshwari, Dahisar and Mankhurd areas. Medicines and syringes worth
Rs 2.20 lakh were also seized from their clinics. Some Ayurvedic and Unani
medicines with expiry dates were also recovered by the police.
According to Police, the accused were practising
medicine without proper qualification and registration. Most of the medicines
were for treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD). The names of the
clinics were projected connection with religious places.
Offences under Sections 33 and 36 of the Maharashtra
Medical Practitioners Act, 1961 were registered. The accused have been
identified as Sheikh Mohammad Anwar Mohammad Aslam. Mohammad Nabi Hussain
Mhmmad Farid Sheikh, Imran Abdul Jabbar Khan, Dayashankar Hublal Sinh, Junaid
Hashamtulla Siddiqi, Shahabuddin Nizamuddin Sheikh, Naved Jahed Khan, Rashid
Hussain Beig, Rashid Hussain Afzal Hussain Sheikh and Nihal Arafat Hussain
Sheikh.
Further investigation has been initiated.
