
Mumbai, 07 October (H.S.): Anticipation surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ continues to build, with the first look of veteran actor Arun Govil from the film now unveiled. Govil will portray King Dasharatha, the father of Lord Rama, in the highly anticipated adaptation. The poster presents him in a majestic and regal avatar. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, has already generated considerable buzz following the release of its trailer, which received a positive response from audiences.
In the poster, Arun Govil is seen seated on an imposing, intricately crafted golden throne. His expression reflects gravitas, serenity and depth. Dressed in a traditional silk dhoti and angavastram, his royal appearance captures the dignity and grandeur befitting the King of Ayodhya.
The poster also carries a poignant reference to Govil’s iconic association with Lord Rama. It notes that he brought the character of Lord Rama vividly to life for an entire generation and now returns to the world of ‘Ramayana’ as the King of Ayodhya. The casting thus creates a distinctive connection between his legendary portrayal of Lord Rama and his new role as King Dasharatha.
The poster also confirms the film’s release window. ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide during Diwali 2026 and will also be released in the IMAX format.
Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, the film features an ensemble cast including Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi and Rakul Preet Singh.
