Lucknow, 6 Oct (HS): Uttar

Pradesh is shifting from making mobile phones to manufacturing microchips and

laying the groundwork for the future digital economy, according to Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, who announced investments in semiconductors, data

centers, and artificial intelligence on Tuesday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

announced on Tuesday that Uttar Pradesh is transitioning from mobile phone

assembly to microchip manufacture and laying the groundwork for a future

digital economy through investments in semiconductors, data centers, and

artificial intelligence.

Uttar Pradesh is now developing into a technological

hub. This path from assembly to AI is about more than just technology; it is

also about job creation, entrepreneurship, and economic success for our

children. UP is transitioning from electrical device assembly to semiconductor

manufacture and laying the groundwork for the next digital economy, he added. The

chief minister stated that Uttar Pradesh currently accounts for roughly 60% of

the country's mobile phone output and 55% of electronics component production

in just nine and a half years. He said a Rs 3,706-crore HCL-Foxconn

semiconductor factory was being built in Jewar, and requests for 644 MW of

data-center capacity had been received. He also mentioned that the state has

over 24,000 businesses, including eight unicorns. Thus, the journey is moving

from mobile to modules and from modules to microchips, he stated.

He commended the central government's vision and actions

with fostering a technological and investment ecosystem in the state. PM Modi

laid out the vision of Make in India, Digital India, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat,

and the double-engine government has linked that vision to policy, investment,

and production in Uttar Pradesh, he added. Adityanath slammed past governments,

claiming that Uttar Pradesh's limitless potential had not been realized and

that the state was still classified as a BIMARU state.

When concerns are more about family than state, and

criminals than investors, how can a future-oriented atmosphere be

created? he said. According to the chief minister, before to 2017,

pariwarwad represented progress, Saifai Mahotsav was cultural

advancement, and the mafia was an industrialization model. He stated that his

government's priority had shifted from family-centric development to state

development, investor protection over mafias, and technology over appeasement. With

the advent of electronics comes the necessity for data centers, and with the

growth of data, UP is now creating the groundwork for the future digital

economy, from data centers to AI cities, he stated.

Adityanath stated that the state's AI Pragya project aims to

link 10 lakh youngsters with new technology. He also mentioned that the growing

startup environment is assisting young people in transitioning from job

searchers to job creators. The chief minister said he will attend a ceremony in

Lucknow on Tuesday to commemorate HCL Tech's tenth anniversary and help

inaugurate the HCL GUVI Emerging Tech Skill Center. This is the new flight of

the 'new Uttar Pradesh', he stated, with the commitment of a developed India

and a developed Uttar Pradesh.

“From Assembly to AI: The New Flight of New Uttar Pradesh. Previous

governments did not harness the state's unlimited potential; instead, they kept

it mired in backwardness. Today, within just nine and a half years, the state

accounts for nearly 60 percent of the country's mobile phone production and 55

percent of electronics components. The Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi

ji envisioned Make in India, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat; the

double-engine government has grounded it in Uttar Pradesh through policy,

investment, and production. In Jewar, a Rs. 3,706 crore HCL-Foxconn chip unit

is taking shape, proposals for 644 MW data centers have arrived, and the state

boasts over 24,000 startups and 8 unicorns. In other words, the journey is

progressing from Mobile to Module, and from Module to Microchip. But before

2017, the picture was different. Announcements were made, but projects

struggled to take off on the ground. Because back then, family favoritism was

development, the Saifai festival was cultural upliftment, and mafia-ization

became the model for industrialization. When concern is more for family than

the state, and more for criminals than investors, how can an environment be

created for future technologies?” UP CM remarked in a post on X.
