Sonitpur (Assam), 06 October (HS): Rangapara Police in Assam’s Sonitpur district have arrested two alleged inter-state cyber fraudsters from Haryana for reportedly cheating people in different parts of Assam through mobile phones.

Police said on Tuesday that a team led by police officer Dhanjit Haloi conducted an operation in Haryana and arrested M. Shakib and Ishtiaq Alam, a native of Bihar. The two accused were brought to Rangapara Police Station for interrogation.

According to police sources, the accused allegedly used mobile phones to target people and extort money through fraudulent means. Following the investigation, both accused were produced before the Tezpur court on Tuesday for further legal proceedings.

Further investigation into the case is underway.-----------
