
Noida, 6 Oct (HS): Swiss
President Guy Parmelin arrived at the Noida International Airport (Jewar
Airport) in Jewar, Greater Noida, on Tuesday, the second day of his India
visit, along with a 75-member delegation. He inspected the passenger terminal
and cargo facilities at the airport. During this, he received information from
officials regarding the construction and operation of the airport. He also
spoke with a representative of the Zurich Company. The Swiss President is on a
three-day state visit to India from October 5 to 7.

Mishra stated that the police administration has made elaborate security
arrangements for the Swiss President. Traffic was diverted during his arrival
and departure. Around 3,000 police personnel are deployed for his security. The
President remained at the airport until 2 p.m.
Noida International Airport is operated by a subsidiary of
Zurich Airport International AG. Preparations are underway to resume
international flights from the airport in December. Consequently, the Swiss
President's visit is considered significant for cooperation in the aviation
sector between the two countries.
According to officials of the Federation of Indian Export
Organisations, President Parmelin's visit to India will further strengthen the
economic and business relations between the two countries.
