Bhubaneswar, 06 October (H.S.): Senior officers and staff of various departments on Tuesday participated in a cleanliness drive and Shramdaan at Kharavel Bhawan in Bhubaneswar as part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign.
The programme was organised under the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative, with officers and employees voluntarily contributing their time and effort to clean office premises, common areas and the surrounding campus.
The participants also took a Swachhata pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings and adopting responsible sanitation practices in their daily lives.
The initiative highlighted the spirit of a ‘Whole of Government’ approach and underlined that cleanliness is a shared responsibility. The participants stressed the need to make cleanliness a sustained practice rather than limiting it to special cleanliness drives.
The Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign is being observed from September 17 to October 17 with the objective of promoting public participation in cleanliness and sanitation activities and strengthening a lasting culture of Swachhata across the country.
The Shramdaan at Kharavel Bhawan reaffirmed the collective commitment of the participating officers and staff to carry the message of cleanliness beyond the campaign period and contribute to cleaner, healthier and more sustainable workplaces and communities.
