New Delhi, 06 October (H.S.): Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday launched several health-related initiatives under the Seva Sankalp campaign at an ASHA Sammelan, while announcing an increase in the monthly honorarium for ASHA workers from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000. They also launched the expansion of the Anmol scheme, a SOTTO Centre at GB Pant Hospital and the Nursing Home Management System portal. The programme was held at Thyagraj Stadium. Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh was also present on the occasion.

The Lieutenant Governor said that, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an inclusive and developed India, several important healthcare initiatives had been launched in Delhi. He said that, recognising the crucial role played by frontline ASHA workers, their monthly honorarium had been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000. He added that the Anmol scheme had also been expanded to provide advanced screening for newborns. In addition, a dedicated SOTTO Centre had been launched at GB Pant Hospital, along with a transparent portal for nursing home management.

The Lieutenant Governor said Delhi would move towards becoming a healthy and developed city through technology, robust healthcare services and a sensitive, people-centric approach.

The Chief Minister said the incentive amount for ASHA workers had been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000. The decision would provide financial support to 6,690 ASHA workers in Delhi and further strengthen doorstep healthcare services, she said.

She said the launch of the SOTTO Centre at GB Pant Hospital would ensure better coordination throughout the organ donation and transplantation process, enabling timely assistance to patients in need.

The Chief Minister said the Anmol scheme had been expanded, under which newborns in Delhi would now be screened free of cost for 56 health conditions. This would facilitate the early detection and timely treatment of diseases, she said.

She added that the Nursing Home Management System portal had also been launched to make processes related to nursing homes simpler, more transparent and more accountable.
