New Delhi/Chandigarh, 06 October (HS): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Punjabi film producer Amardeep Singh Grewal in connection with its investigation into an alleged bribery case linked to the wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He has been called for questioning in connection with the probe into financial transactions and foreign exchange-related matters.

The ED said Amardeep Singh Grewal is a director of M/s East Sunshine Production Private Limited and is associated with the Punjabi film industry. He has been involved in the production and distribution of several films, including the 2023 film ‘Maujaan Hi Maujaan’ and the 2022 film ‘Snowman’.

In this case, allegations have been levelled against the Punjab Chief Minister’s wife of allegedly seeking a bribe in exchange for suppressing a criminal case. She has already rejected the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. Complaints in connection with the matter have also reportedly been filed before the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the High Court.
