
Bhavnagar, 06 October (H.S.): Six people were killed in a horrific road accident on the Bhavnagar-Talaja-Somnath Highway in Gujarat on Tuesday morning. According to preliminary information, a speeding Bolero crashed into the rear of a trailer parked on the roadside near Trapaj village. CCTV footage of the accident has emerged.
The occupants of the Bolero were reportedly travelling to a ship-breaking yard for work in the morning when the speeding vehicle rammed into the trailer from behind. The impact was so severe that the Bolero was extensively damaged, killing six of its occupants.
The deceased have been identified as Vijaybhai, Sadubhai, Jigeshbhai, Bhargavbhai, Hiranbhai and Yogeshbhai. Another passenger, identified as Jayeshbhai, sustained serious injuries. He was initially taken to Bhavnagar Civil Hospital and was later shifted to a private hospital in the city for further treatment.
According to reports, the trailer was parked on the roadside near Trapaj village in Talaja taluka. The trailer driver had reportedly stepped out of the vehicle to have tea when the speeding Bolero approaching from behind crashed into it. The front portion of the Bolero was severely damaged in the collision.
Upon receiving information about the accident, local police reached the spot. Police said the bodies of all six victims had been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations and that an investigation into the cause of the accident had been initiated.
The police are also examining CCTV footage of the incident as part of their investigation and will take further action based on the findings.
