eight Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates filed their nominations for the
Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, with Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath and other senior leaders present. On the last day of nominations,
BJP candidates Dharampal Singh, Radhakant Ojha, Prakash Pal, Vidyasagar Sonkar,
Gopi Krishna Pandey, Priyanka Singh Rawat, Rampratap Singh Chauhan, and Shruti
Gangwar filed their nomination papers at the Vidhan Bhavan. Yogi extended his
best wishes to all the candidates.
Apart from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister of
State for Finance/BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister
Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Minister Suresh Khanna, Rakesh Sachan,
Ashish Patel, Dr. Sanjay Nishad, Kapildev Agarwal, JPS Rathore, Dinesh Pratap
Singh, Girish Chandra Yadav, Brajesh Singh, Satish Chandra Sharma, Rajni
Tiwari, Baldev Singh Aulakh etc. were present during the filing of nomination
papers.
Rajya Sabha candidate Priyanka Rawat said, The BJP is
our soul. The central and state leadership has placed their trust in us. To
maintain this trust, we must continue to move forward like a
Charaiveti-Charaiveti. I will strive to do whatever I can for society and the
organization.
Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination, Rampratap
Singh Chauhan said that he is grateful to the top leadership for making an
ordinary worker like him the candidate.
Before this, all the candidates reached the state office.
Party leaders welcomed them there. On this occasion, State President Pankaj
Chaudhary said that Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas (everyone's support,
everyone's development) is not just a slogan for the BJP. Our party does what
it says. Our party moves forward by taking all sections of society along. If
you look at our eight candidates, all of them are our elected workers. These
names come from all castes and all regions.
The last date for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha
elections is October 6. Nominations will then be scrutinized on October 7, and
withdrawals will be possible until October 9. Voting will take place on October
16.
