
Bhubaneswar, 05 October (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance on Monday conducted simultaneous searches at 10 locations linked to Arabinda Mohanty, Assistant Executive Engineer of the R&B Sub-Division at Betnoti under the R&B Division, Baripada, in Mayurbhanj district, over allegations of possession of disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
The searches are being conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada. The operation is being led by five Deputy Superintendents of Police, eight Inspectors and other supporting personnel.
According to the Vigilance department, searches are underway at locations spread across Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Khordha districts. The premises being searched include a triple-storeyed residential building at Angargadia in Balasore, a double-storeyed building at Balianta in Khordha district, Mohanty’s office and residence at Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district, and his paternal house at Rayan-Ramachandrapur in Jaleswar, Balasore.
The Vigilance team is also searching his farmhouse at Basantapur and another house at Bamapada in Balasore district. Searches are additionally being conducted at the residences of three of his alleged close associates at Angargadia and Bamapada in Balasore district and Baisinga in Mayurbhanj district.
The searches are part of an investigation into allegations that Mohanty possesses assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Vigilance officials are examining property and other asset-related documents and conducting verification at the locations covered under the search warrants.
