
Lucknow, 5 Oct (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj on the holy occasion of his Jyoti Jyot Diwas. In his formal
statement, CM Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to the founder of Sikhism, noting that
the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji stands as a remarkable
model of social service
and a perfect mentor
for humankind. He stressed that the Guru's everlasting teachings—truth, service, equality, and brotherhood—persist
in guiding society towards harmony and spiritual awareness.
CM Yogi has often highlighted
the profound spiritual bravery of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, frequently mentioning
his historical boldness in opposing
oppression and leading society with confidence and without intimidation.
Jyoti Jyot Diwas commemorates the death anniversary (union with the everlasting
light) of the Sikh Gurus. For Guru Nanak Dev Ji, it marks the day he departed
from his physical existence on September 22, 1539, at Kartarpur Sahib (currently
in Pakistan). As per the conventional calendar adhered to by followers, the anniversary is celebrated worldwide
with prayers, kirtan, and communal service
(langar).
