
Buxar, 05 October (H.S.): At least 22 pilgrims from Telangana were injured after a bus carrying them from Gayaji to Ayodhya collided with a truck in Bihar's Buxar district early Monday, officials said.
The accident occurred around 4 am on the Veer Kunwar Singh Bridge, which connects Bihar with Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The pilgrims had visited Gayaji to perform 'pind daan' during the ongoing Pitru Paksha fair and were travelling to Ayodhya when the accident took place.
Buxar SDPO Gaurav Pandey said the injured passengers were taken to Buxar Sadar Hospital for treatment and were out of danger.
The front portion of the bus was badly damaged in the collision. The vehicle was subsequently removed from the bridge and traffic movement was restored, officials said.
Police have started an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident.
