Guwahati, 05 October (HS): Residents of Lalmati in Dimoria under Sonapur staged a protest and blocked the road on Monday opposing the proposed installation of a high-voltage electricity transmission tower in the area.

The protesters raised objections to the installation of the high-capacity electrical tower and demanded that the authorities reconsider the proposed project. The road blockade led to disruption of vehicular movement in the area as residents gathered to voice their concerns.

The protesters said they would continue their opposition unless their concerns regarding the proposed tower installation were addressed by the concerned authorities. The demonstration continued for some time as the local residents pressed for action on the issue.----------
